Philippe Coudyser, fifty-eight years, began his career in sound as a DJ, after a bac F3 (electrical engineering) and a BTS in commercial techniques, useful when he created his company, Sonoss, "sound of weddings and banquets. In 1981, his small shop, not far from the city of Lille hotel, troubleshoots emergency Town Hall, whose tomb equipment failure while Pierre Mauroy will deliver his first speech of Prime Minister at the foot of the belfry. With its three employees, the company later becomes official supplier to the Town Hall in sound performances or events. "We were then asked to fixed equipment, such as theaters and shows, with calls for tenders involving always sound and light, which led us to the light", recalls Philippe Coudyser. The firm will equip all theatres of the region one after the other.

End of the 1990s the young boss, travelling much, becomes, after contacts in Britain, distributor in France of James Thomas, British manufacturer of headlamps. It launches in 2000 projector led (light emitting diode), a revolution in light because the LED consumes ten times less energy than the halogen and offers with its mixtures of blue, green and Red points, 15 million color combinations. But the product is expensive and recent technology. Customers do not want to invest. Philippe Coudyser, dedicated therefore only light, creates a kind of "hub" distributing this product in Europe, via the rental or purchase in Lille.

To manage the opportunities of the LED, it creates in 2005 Luminex in Belgium with two Belgians. Bart Swinnen and Yann Reckens (each with one-third of the capital) have developed a system of management and control of these sets of light through a software "for maximum exploitation of the light effects. Sonoss has become one of the first in this field in France and is part of the three in the world. This system of "network applied to the light" was chosen for the lighting of the festivals of light in Lyon, a concept that the Lyonnais were sold to the universal exposition in Shanghai and will be implemented by Sonoss. His credit yet: the Palais des congrès de Paris, bears Jersey, highlighted the spectacle of Ben Hur at the stage of France, the national theatre of Tokyo or even tours of Phil Collins, Michel Polnareff or Jean-Michel jar.

They will be knowledge to make Sonoss, who works at this time to the setting in light of the pont du Gard, planned next May.

With thirteen France (four in Luminex) employees, the company realized a turnover of 4.1 million euros in 2009 (600,000 for Luminex). "This trend to the"green light"and the technology offers to the world of the show LED, which few people are equipped, we open beautiful prospects for the future", is convinced Philippe Coudyser. In this niche strategy, he believes, with its expertise, have a length of advance and now wants to develop its international network.
