UDF: legal imbroglio. Where will the legislative 2007 money go The UDF was not dissolved but no candidate is under his label stricto sensu: two other panels have emerged for the legislative elections. On the one hand, the European social Liberal Party (PSLE) for 84 candidates who have supported Nicolas Sarkozy. Problem: the PSLE does not yet have Association funding approved by the National Commission on campaign accounts and therefore cannot be recognized, legally, as a political party. "We will see after the legislative elections," begs Charles de Courson. In the meantime, the candidates themselves fund their campaign as the PSLE coffers are empty. The faithful of François Bayrou has been more far-sighted: the UDF-Modem has an association of funding approved. This allows it to record the amount of new accessions (80,000) and then receive assistance. Is the capital of the old UDF: even if he has no doubt much fades after the presidential campaign, François Bayrou keeps the hand on the balance.
The FCP expects a new discipline plan. Educated by the presidential failure of 2002 (3.37), the PCF had, as its Treasurer, Jean-Louis Frostin, "anticipated" a forfeit of the campaign for Marie-George Buffet (1.93) in 2007: 4.6 million euros of expenses (excluding costs incurred by the federations) "covered" by "provisions" made since 2003. Nevertheless, "the situation is tense on the cash". Even if, for the legislative elections, most of the expenditure is left to the burden of the federations, the new announced underperformance and the possible loss of 10 to 18 members will require economies. After those already carried out since 2002 loss of 49 posts of permanent and sales of properties, including frameworks in Draveil (2004) training centre, margins are narrowed. Remaining 55 permanent headquarters and the Treasurer referred to against-heart of potential "redeployment of staff." Yesterday, the PCF held to clarify that the headquarters of the party or tapestry of Fernand Léger at the 5th floor were for sale. "The only contact with a direction of Museum" would have concerned "a stained glass realized by the wife" of the painter, but the Museum of Modern Art in the city of Paris was "not interested", loose the Treasurer.

The Greens hope to "double the development" of the presidential election. The ecologists keep a resounding memento of the legislative elections of 2002, after which the party himself with a debt of EUR 2.2 million and had taken four years to clean up its finances. This year, the Treasurer Toufik Zarrougui negotiated in advance of the loans with banks and based its budget on a "restrictive calculation." Dominique Voynet (1.57, below the threshold for reimbursement of expenses) alimité its spending so that they are about "covered" by 800,000 euros awarded to each candidate and the 550,000 euros in loans contracted by his party. For the legislative elections, the Greens have borrowed EUR 1.6 million: what finance posters, bulletins and the professions of faith of their candidates, nothing more. Having only three outgoing MPs, they wager on the number of votes accumulated by 560 candidates. On 22 April, Dominique Voynet collected 576.666. "Our goal is to double the last", said there is little the National Secretary of the party, Cécile Duflot.
